Cut-Offs — Leyla Rzayeva

_{The Cut-Offs project imagines the threads that connect us across geography and culture. In this ongoing participatory series, I recreate an item of clothing as a stylized tapestry. A long piece of pink fabric is stretched on the wall with its ends slightly lifted; at the center is a metal loop wrapped in silk dividing the fabric in two sections. Painted on the left side are pieces of broken pottery in red, white, brown and blue colors.

Participants are invited to share a photograph or an object that represents an aspect of self-care, deep memory or emotion. The collection of painted tapestries imagines the threads that connect people across generations meeting in the body, memory and love.}
