I create sites to perform, unlearn and re-write. My photographs expand on the gestures and traces of my body to build sculptural props and visual sequences that test visibility and self-possession.

I imagine a pathway to forming an identity which does not have a straight matrix of visibility; it describes a space of constant becoming and looking over your shoulder at the history of inheritance, especially for diasporic families. When working on a project, I imagine a big circle. I work in a loop, extending into space, positioning objects, photographing gestures and impressions. My interest in thinking and drawing with the malleability and transparency of the wire, through film and image-making, helps me to offer crticial reframing, often hidden from view.
